I enjoyed my stay at the Red Lion. The staff at the front desk were friendly and helpful. My room was clean. The king size bed was comfortable. The room also had a fridge, microwave, new TV, and a small balcony. Since all the other reviewers found things to whine about, maybe I should try to think of something that wasn't ideal. Oh, I've got something: the shower head wasn't perfect. It had two settings - pulse massage and a WIDE spray. Neither were to my liking. I would actually give the Red Lion five stars if Hotwire had it listed as a two star hotel. From my experience, it is a solid, no nonsense, no frills, two star hotel. I am giving it a score of four because it is in the three star category on hotel websites. If you are just looking for a clean, comfortable place to crash, the Red Lion is a good option.

I'm not sure why everyone is being so awful about the reviews for the red lion. I am a picky person and I loved loved loved this hotel. The rooms were perfectly clean and the beds were heavenly. The staff was friendly and kind. The breakfast was totally worth five dollars. There were no cockroaches, or rude customer service. In fact the staff was ultra friendly. Honestly, the hotel was lovely!! I have stayed about six hotels in the last six months. This one was my favorite. I am a middle class average human being so my opinion does not reflect any kind if weird ideas about what is accomodating.

This is absolutely the most disgusting hotel I have ever stayed in. The room smells horribly of dog pee, to the point of making my wife and I sick. The floors weren't vacuumed, there was debris everywhere. The toilet has mold growing in it and the bath tub doesn't drain at all when you try to take a shower. I would have rather slept in my car. Do not stay here unless you are in the mood to replace on your list the worst hotel you've ever stayed in.

People always like to find little things to nitpick and complain about. Except for there being a charge for breakfast of $5 instead of "free" (and anyway a "free" breakfast is figured into the room cost as everyone knows) I found it very nice. The rooms were sparkling clean, the staff very friendly and cheerful. The waitress/hostess in the dining room has been working there 39 years yet did not seem burned out, she appeared to love her job and took pride in her work. The food was well worth the five bucks. All in all a very refreshing night.

The bar service was the slowest that I have ever encountered. The old lady took forever to take orders there was a long line to the door! Worst service ever! And the other workers saw how slow she was and didn't help out!

This hotel smells like cigarette smoke even in the non-smoking rooms & rooms are very musty. Also, the floors are thin & you can hear lots of noise. I would not recommend this hotel if you are looking for a nice place to stay. The only positive is if you want a nice outdoor pool to enjoy in the summertime, they have one.

I wish these star ratings were available in MINUS numbers because that is what ALL Red Lion Hotels would get and their property in Twin Falls would get no better. All of the Red Lion hotels are old and tired, thread bare and worn to a frazzle. Carpets are old, dirty, torn and sometimes worse. The customer service is almost all of them is non-existent and I think for the most part the owners and franchisee's don't care. I checked into this property this evening, was given a room that was just OK, clean but just OK, BUT, the sliding door to the outside had no working lock and the security bar on that door was broken. Totally and completely unsafe. I called the front desk and told the young lady at the front desk about this situation and all she said was "come back to the front desk and I will give you another room." No concern in her voice or demeanor. I went and got a new room, went in and it seemed, OK, but the TV volume had a "control" on it that if you were sitting 2 feet from the front of the TV you could truly just barely hear the sound. Called the young lady at the front desk to ask about it and was told that nothing could be done that evning. I questioned that and she said she would attempt to reach the manager, NO MANGER ON DUTY, so I waited. after about 30 minutes with no answers I went to the front deska nd was told the manager was on her way to the hotel to take careof the problem. About 10 minutes later the young lady and the front desk knocked on the door, I answered and she told me that the manager was not going to be there so she gave her the instructions on how to increase the volume. It took her about 2 minutes to go through the instructions and increase the volume from 30 to 40 and she then walked out the door, BEFORE checking/asking if the the volume was better. After she left I picked up the control and increased the volume, there was NO discernable increase in volume. At this point I just didn't care anymore and moved my chair closer so I could actually hear the people on The Voice singing. Get that, I couldn't hear people siging on the TV unless I was 3 feet from the front of the TV. I could now hear them but couldn't actually watch them because I was too damn close to the TV set to watch without hurting my eyes and getting a headache. I have tried and tried, but no longer, Red Lion hotels are off my list of places to stay and I will forever say bad things about them as a comnpany.

Staff was ok, but because we named our own price, we had to pay for our breakfast, even though Priceline said it was included. The rooms were next to each other. Nice pool. No hot tub. The rooms were double queens. Dirty comforters, took them off the beds. Still had to wash the baby's feet before putting him to bed... Beds were the best. Very comfortable. Charged us $50 for breakfast which included scrambled eggs with cheese on top, bacon, sausage, yogurt, strawberries, blueberries (canned), bananas, apples, 3 different juices, coffees, hot chocolate, instant oatmeal, muffins, bagels, toast, and fried potatoes. Very yummy, all of us found something we could eat. Favorite hotel of our trip.

Booked a room with two queen beds. The pics on line looked greatly different then the actual room. It was very cramped and had no microwave or even a bucket for ice. The outdoor pool was closed and the breakfast wasn't complimentary . Based on the price I wasn't very pleased with the entire package .

You get what you pay for, house keeping was opening room doors that were still occupied and loudly saying housekeeping at 9am, toilets were dirty and my shower had an opened bottle of body wash in it.

Ended up with red lion through Hotwire. Read all the bad reviews, but went in hopeful that maybe they had cleaned up a bit. Walked in and the room looked a little old and outdated, but at first glance didn't look too gross. But when I noticed the first cockroach in the bathroom, I got to looking around and found more throughout the room. Moved to the la Quinta and had a great experience there. Would not recommend giving this hotel a chance...

We stayed here while on a cross-country trip, and found it clean, well-appointed, and appropriately priced. It's a little dated, and there were some flaws with our room: closet doors were dented, some caulk missing in the bathroom, but overall it was nice. The bed was very comfortable and the toiletries provided were VERY nice. Without our AARP discount it would have been overpriced.

We checked in and the room seems dingy and old but clean. I was wrong. Definitely is a bottom of the barrel motel. We checked out.

I pulled into this place after 10 hours of driving and was pleased with the quality for the price. It was about $90, but for that I got a large, comfortable king room. The bed was a very soft, new-feeling pillow top, ample pillows. I can't imagine why most hotels have such crappy beds, since that's the main thing you're paying for, but this one was nice. The bathroom was roomy with good water pressure. The room and furnishings looked clean and modern except for the old-school TV, which I never got around to watching anyway. Ditto for the pool, which looked very nice. There's a good breakfast buffet with some hot foods including this weird pancake dispenser. Supposedly the breakfast is $5, but it was no charge for me when I mentioned my AAA membership. That seems kind of stingy--a breakfast buffet should be free to any paying guest, especially at a reasonably nice hotel. There is a restaurant in the hotel and another restaurant across the parking lot. Because this is farming country, the air smells faintly of manure outside, but it's not strong and doesn't seep into the rooms.

Outdated decor and poorly maintained. Gross! Believe me, you don't want to stay here!

Front desk very friendly and efficient. Room not too bad...similar to average Quality Inns (a step lower than Comfort Inns)...Booked the room through priceline so we got a decent deal but other than that, the rest of the experience was ...meh. We arrived on a Sunday (one night stay) tired after hours of driving to find out that the restaurant/bar was closed. On a Sunday. In a hotel. Now, I get why many businesses close in some cities on Sundays... but hotels are not like other businesses!!! They are there to serve travelers! (therefore the concepts of room service, laundry service, 24 hour fitness rooms etc). Then, the next morning we were late for breakfast (which was not free btw) because it was only served until 9am. The cafe' attached to the hotel was pathetic. Not the worst place I've ever stayed but not one I'd recommend either

We come to TWF to visit family an prefer to bring our dog with us, unfortunately not many hotels here allow pets. We chose the RL based on the fact that they did and we got a room for ~$60/night. We got what we paid for, but barely. If we had to pay the pet fee it would have been a total rip off. The bathroom was dirty, apparently cleaning behind the open door never crosses their mind. The shower does a better job of getting the rest of the bathroom wet than rinsing the shampoo from your hair. The "climate" system clearly hasn't been updated since the place was built in the 70's..at the time the sliding temperature scale of 1-14 may have been great, but the welcome has ended. It was a balmy 10 degrees out, so I set the stinky heater to ~4 since I'm a bit heat sensitive when sleeping. I woke up drenched in sweat feeling like someone had transported me into a sauna while sleeping. Turning the heater to "1" and opening the window made it barely tolerable. So the "coolest" on the heat scale must have been 80+ degrees. I wouldn't stay here again...ever. And I only bother to write a review to prevent others from the same irritation. Not sleeping after driving for 10-hours + holiday family drama = fail!

Very very very old-school. Maybe some people like this but I didn't really care for it much. The room had a slight musky smell but the bathroom was nice. Breakfast costs 4.95 per person even after I told them I was a AAA member. Oh well, worth the try. Breakfast was quite good, nothing amazing. One great thing about this place is the exercise room. Very spacious with two treadmills and two ellipticals, and also two plasma screen TVs. I enjoyed it ALOT!

Like most other Red Lions, this one is a convention hotel. The inside looks much better than the outside does. There are fresh baked cookies at the front desk and the hotel seems clean enough that you wouldn't even hesitate to take one. The drive to the hotel is pretty easy as it's just along the highway. And you cross over the Snake River Canyon on the way. Man, I'm still kicking myself for not making a stop for a picture. Very pretty.
